At Gira! we believe that travel is a journey in all the senses of the word, and we encourage you to embrace and welcome cultural differences along the way and just plain have fun!

Gira! French Vacation Rentals (www.francerentals.net) is a sister website to www.italyrentals.com which has been in business for 10 years. Susan and Jim Broyles combined their talents, know-how and love for Italy to offer vacation rentals via the Internet. They bring that same savoir faire and experience to Gira! French Vacation Rentals.

What is your experience in France?

Susan’s first European love was France. As a French major and linguist, she lived in Paris, attended the Sorbonne and channeled her enthusiasm for this country and language into many interesting jobs, including a couple of stints with Club Med.

As a couple, Susan and Jim enjoyed traveling abroad with their two young children and later relied upon these experiences to help develop their business. They loved the idea of staying in one place for at least a week, actually unpacking their suitcases and setting up a “home away from home”, whether in a chateau, country house or city apartment. This type of travel allowed them to gain in depth experience in different regions of France.

They also shared their passion for this style of travel with groups of friends and family. They encouraged it for those who truly desire to enjoy the pulse of daily French life and discover what France has to offer beyond the tourist attractions. Additionally, a country house or cottage is more economical and allows groups the time and space to enjoy moments together for cooking and socializing.

These experiences led to a desire to share this philosophy with others. Jim’s background in software and website development was the perfect fit to Susan’s language and travel experience.

Our team also includes Marketing Director, Susan Engeman, a Francophile who has traveled extensively in France – during her studies in Paris and while working in the international field. After completing a Master’s degree in French literature and civilization, Susan lived in Burgundy and led luxury bike tours in several of the celebrated wine regions. Since then, she has traveled extensively in France for both business and pleasure. Her love of the French language, in-depth knowledge of the history, culture and cuisine and enthusiasm for European travel make her an essential part of our team.

How do I find the vacation rental most suitable for me?

Our website was designed with the express purpose of keeping the booking process simple. The facility of finding a property in your preferred region of France, or simply choosing a location based on your personal lodging preferences is easy and efficient. Most rentals are done on a weekly basis and availability for the majority of our properties is displayed after your dates of travel are entered. We are available to answer any questions you may have regarding a particular property or to guide you in selecting the rental that fits your needs.

dear susan and jim - we returned late Sunday night and just wanted to let you know what an absolutely fantastic vacation we had. the house was just as gorgeous as the photos suggested and everything was in tip top condition and well stocked. we felt at home immediately. all of us agreed that this was indeed a perfect vacation thanks to the house and its location. all the surrounding towns were stunning and we felt we could have stayed for many more weeks. we give it a 10 out of 10. hope you also had a great christmas vacation. with kind regards and thanks.
